Dear Parishioners:
I am sure most of you are aware that Holy Family Parish has been in good financial shape for quite some time.  We have always had sufficient funds to pay operating expenses and make necessary improvements as needed throughout the years.
Many of you are also likely aware that our physical buildings are older and have not had many updates over the years except when absolutely necessary.  In the past 5 to 6 years, there have been significant repairs made that totaled well over $300,000 to our properties.  These repairs were for the church boiler, roof, sidewalks, steps and windows along with repairs at the rectory and the roof/air conditioning at the church hall.  All of these expenditures were paid for out of our general funds.
We have completed the final step in solving water leaks in the Church by having the entire exterior of the Church sandblasted, tuck pointed and sealed.  This is the first time this type of work has been completed since the Church was built over 100 years ago.  This project is over $150,000 but is necessary to protect and preserve our beautiful church building for many years to come.  Although we have paid for this project, we have depleted most of our reserves, which could affect our ability to pay for plaster repair and painting the interior of the Church and ongoing operating expenses and repairs.

For this reason, our Finance Committee and I have determined that the prudent approach would be to hold a Capital Fundraising Campaign for this project.  It is important to communicate that the Archdiocese has approved this capital campaign which shows they are vested in the long-term viability of our Parish.  

Enclosed is an envelope for your donation/pledge and we will sincerely appreciate any contributions you are able to give to this Campaign.  We have a wonderful parish community at Holy Family Church and it is our sincere desire to keep our faith, our buildings and Slovenian heritage alive.
